Your current workflow
"I book through Instagram DMs. That works fine."
Keep Instagram — it's still your best discovery channel. The difference is what happens after a client finds you.
With a booking page, your link in bio becomes a direct booking, not a conversation.
No back-and-forth about availability. No remembering to check DMs at 11pm. And when you're mid-cut,
the client who can't reach you by DM still gets a booking confirmed, not a bounce.
"My clients won't switch to a new system."
There's nothing for your clients to switch to. They don't download an app. They don't create an account.
They tap a link — your link, in your bio or on a card — pick a time, and confirm with their phone number.
That's it. The barrier is a single tap lower than sending a DM.
Moving from another platform
"I'm locked into Booksy."
Booksy is month-to-month — you're not locked in by contract, but you may feel locked in by your client history.
We import your existing book with your consent (per ADR-0010), so your clients and appointment
history come with you. And your client list is exportable from PerfectBarber within 48 hours, by contract —
try asking Booksy for that same commitment in writing.
"What's the actual catch on the free tier?"
The "Powered by PerfectBarber" badge on your booking page. That's our ad — it's how we
grow without charging you commission or stacking subscription fees.
The free tier is not a trial. There's no 14-day limit, no credit card required, and no features
that quietly expire. It's free because the badge is our business model at scale — not because
we're planning to raise prices on you later.
Your data and your clients
"Who actually owns my client list?"
You do. Always.
Your clients are never cross-promoted to other shops, never contacted by us, and
never used to build a marketplace. The platform doesn't have "users" — it has your clients, who
booked with you.
48-hour export promise (ADR-0010): At any time, for any reason, you can request a
full export of your client data — names, phone numbers, visit history, notes. We deliver it within 48 hours.
This is a contractual commitment, not a checkbox in settings that might disappear.
Payments and money
"I run a cash and e-transfer shop. Is that supported?"
Yes — cash and e-transfer are first-class payment methods in the checkout flow, not an afterthought.
Every appointment closes with a payment record even when no processing happens. You don't need a card reader,
a Stripe account, or any payment hardware to use PerfectBarber.
"Do I need a card reader?"
No. Card payments are client-side: the client pays on their own phone through the pay page link.
There's no hardware to buy and nothing to install. If you want to take cards, the client's
phone is the reader.
"What does 'Stripe's public rate, we add 0%' actually mean?"
Card processing costs 2.9% + 30¢ per transaction — Stripe's published rate for online payments, the same
number any business sees if they sign up directly with Stripe. We don't mark it up. We don't take
a cut of your transactions. That's the "we add 0%" commitment. Compare that to Booksy Boost
(30% of a new client's first visit) or Fresha's new-client commission (20% minimum $6).
GST and Canadian compliance
"Is GST included in the price?"
No — GST is added on top at the standard Canadian rate. We're a Canadian company and collect tax
correctly. Your invoice will show the GST separately.
"CASL — do I have to worry about that?"
We handle CASL consent collection for you. Every client who books through PerfectBarber provides
explicit consent for appointment-related communications at booking time. Transactional messages
(confirmations, reminders, manage-booking links) are CASL-compliant by design. We never send marketing
messages to your clients without additional explicit consent. The opt-out path (SMS STOP) is built in
and irrevocable.
